Ms. Nakada wasn't here today so there was a sub. Hopefully, students chose one of the three prompts:

1) After reading The Outsiders by SE Hinton, write an essay explaining why you think Ponyboy will or will not stay gold. Provide several reasons with evidence from the text to support your thesis.

2) After reading The Outsiders by SE Hinton and listening to "Blue Jeans and White T-shorts by Gslight Anthem, write about how these two pieces of literature sue word choice to create similar tone. Provide several reasons with evidence from the text to support your thesis.

3) After reading The Outsiders by SE Hinton and reading "The Poverty Myth" write an essay about whether each of the Curtis brothers support or counter the poverty myth. Provide several reasons with evidence from the text to support your thesis.
