We started off class by Alex ANAKAI reading the blog then we got our quizzes back so we can go over them and get extra credit. Without EXTRA CREDIT, I got a 37/40. We did not really get to do much besides grade are test most of the class  got a grade. Shoutout to the homie Pradeep its his Birthday also shoutout to Isaac, Samson, Eliana, Lara, and the other Issac.

Ch. 12/13 summaries

Ch. 14 R.J. 5.1

Hey, I'm doing the blog today.  We started writing our Chapter 12 summaries and we learned about Aunt Alexandra moving in, her feminine influence on Scout and Jem, and her slight obsession with the Caste system and labeling families: not someone I think I'd want to meet.  We learn that the Finch's have a cousin who went to jail for an assassination attempt: also not someone I'd want to meet.  Then Lourden got a standing ovation for answering a question really well (good job Lourden).  Atticus makes Scout cry for trying to inform her and Jem about their superiority and how they need to start acting like a lady (in Scout's case) and a gentleman (in Jem's case).  This was an example of the Golden Rule: treat others how you want to be treated.  Everyone wants to know about Mr. Ferrin's personal life.  Bye!

We started off with Lara reading Danika's blog and then she chose me. We turned in RJ's and people from Astro Camp are taking the quiz. We have reading and AR test taking time then we watch some of the movie. We took notes about the similarities  and differences from the book and the movie. We got up to about 30 minutes when the bell rang.

4.1-4.3 due TOMORROW

Sup Y'all. YAY blog time. Nico read his blog first. *claps* Then, Lara read Ms. Nakada's Blog which was so cute!! We saw a picture of her baby Gabe. He so cute. Then we talked a little bit about the quiz and how if you went to Astro Camp (which was totally in space) you'll be taking the quiz on Friday. 

Now we're transitioning into chapter 12 summaries. We learn Jem is going through puberty, he has a giant appetite, is very moody and inconsistent. Calpurnia now calls Jem, Mr. Jem. 

Mr. Ferrin explains a shift that he noticed getting older like being called sir or Mr. 

Scout's not having the best summer. Dill isn't coming and we learn that he has a new dad who's also a lawyer. Atticus leaves for the legislature. Cal takes Scout & Jem to church since no one else is there to take them. They sing a call and response song. Tom Robinson goes to that church. We also learn that Ewe

Hi everyone!

I'm assuming there isn't a blog for today because of your quiz. Hope everyone did really well, is working hard, and learning lots.

Well, Mr. Ferrin probably told you already that Baby Gabe arrived on Monday. All went well (lucky for you, Samson) and here is the little guy, who ended up not being so little (7 lbs, 12 oz).

I miss you all, but I am enjoying being home with Gabe. Keep working hard for Mr. Ferrin and see you soon. :)

We started off the day with Lara reading her "blog post" which was more like an essay, but hey, that's Lara. After that, I was picked to do the blog. In class, we began talking about To Kill a Mockingbird. In chapter 11, we meet Mrs. Dubose. She isn't the most pleasant woman. Mrs. Dubose constantly yells racial slurs and mean insults at Scout and Jem as they pass by her house. One day, she gets to Jem. Jem takes the baton he bought for Scout and pillages her flower garden. Atticus finds out and punishes Jem. His punishment is to go over to Mrs. Dubose's house, apologize, and read to her for a month. Sounds like fun. Sarcasm, sarcasm. Two months later, Jem has completed his reading and Mrs. Dubose dies. We learn she was a morphine addict and that she was using Jem as a distraction from her withdrawals. Also, Mrs. Dubose leaves her will to Jem: one of the flowers from her garden.

HW Reading Journal 4.1

To Kill A Mockingbird chapter 11

Hey guys! It's Lara a.k.a. your favorite/most energetic blogger. Today I was going to sit next to Alex (S.) but then I got chosen to do the blog. This is my interpretation of how it went down:
Me: Hey can I sit there?
Alex: Sure! You are super amazing. 
Ari: Who wants to do the blog?
Me: what the heckies is happening
Ari: Someone want to do the blog?
Me: ARI CHOOSE ME OR ELSE
Ari: Okay, Lara! You are the greatest person ever!
So that was the greatness that was the beginning of this morning. We are having a quiz on Wednesday on chapters 1-11 but mostly read 11 is what Mr. Ferrin says. Everyone is gone because of Astro Camp which I went to in 5th grade. I hope they're having a lot of fun because I'm definitely not. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH just kidding stay in school kids and don't smoke the devil's lettuce. It is very bad. I wonder who will check my blog since I am the official blog checker and Eliana is my backup but she's at Astro Camp and Tai is her backup but he's also at Astro Camp and Isaac is his backup but he's ALSO gone... so yeah. I just realized that lately, no one has added a photo to their blog so I shall add not one photo, but two. WOWOWOW. awmygawd I almost just lost this entire blog but since I am so amazing I saved it. 

These are my beautiful photos. I know guys, it's so out of the ordinary for me to be in my own photos and making peace signs. I never do that. *sarcasm x10* 

THIS CLASS IS OVER IN 40 MINUTES AND I WANT TO DO JUMPING JACKS. Lara chill. ok? ok. TFIOS!!! gosh sometimes I talk way too much. My friends are talking about what books they've read and Therese is reading I Am Malala which I really want to read but Nico misunderstood it as I Am A Llama which also sounds interesting. What if Kuzco from Kuzco's New Groove wrote a book about when he was a llama. That would be a must-read for everyone. 

rabies. rabies is what we are now talking about. rabies. One time my friend was feeding a carrot to a squirrel and the squirrel bit his finger but the squirrel didn't have rabies so it's okay. I feel like my blog will take so long to read but WHATEVER because it is very entertaining to write. Nico is singing songs from Hairspray and now I am finally giving in and singing You Can't Stop The Beat with him but Mr. Ferrin doesn't enjoy our beautiful singing so he made up stop. STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO-OO! don't! DON'T TREAT ME LIKE A CHILD OF TWO-OO! I KNOW THAT YOU WANT WHAT'S BE-EST! please! BUT MOTHER PLEASE, GIVE IT A REEEST! I love musicals. If you did not know, that is Mama I'm A Big Girl Now from Hairspray. We have 15 minutes of class. Now we are doing our summaries for chapter 10 (that means 10 in spanish.) Mr. Ferrin just said something about pushing over an old person and them dying and then everyone laugh. These children are cruel. I really like Mr. Ferrin's way of doing notes. He just does bullet points but they're great. Here they are for them absent kids:

-Atticus is feeble. (old...slow...weak...)

-Not like other fathers. Doesn't hunt or play football.

-IT'S A SIN TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

- Jem and Scout see Tim Johnson, a dog, walking down the street- worried because he's limping- ( rabid)

-Tell Calpurnia - she's raising the alarm.

-Atticus and Tate arrive.

- Tate has Atticus take the shot.

-Jem and Scout learn that their father is a goodshot.

So that was that. It is the end of this lovely blog and so I shall part from this laptop. GOODBYE FRIENDS.
