Well was the lucky guy who got picked to do the blog today. Probably because I'm the only guy who hasn't done it. After Danika read her blog we took out our TKAM packets and started working on page three. If I wasn't doing the blog right now I would probably consider focusing on that. Samson, you just got your requested shout out in today's blog. Your welcome. I guess I should actually work on my packet now instead of procrastinating with the blog. Everyone is pretty much just sitting around and talking at this point. Pr at least Samson and Tai are. Also Samson just got a second shout out in this blog. Again, your welcome. There's the bell. TKAM CH. 3/4 summaries / narrative structure

Hey guys so i guess its my turn haha... thanks Tai *insert thumbs up emoji here*

We started out the day with the blog being read by Tai of course. Then everyone settled in and took out their Readers/Writers Notebook to write our chapter summaries. Gosh guys, ya'll got a lot to say today. Once we finish writing chapter summaries we make a narrative structure for chapter 4. 

OMG Author Avi is coming to meet with us, Nakada has the copies of Nothing But the Truth, The True Confessions of Charlie Doyle, and more!! If you're interested come borrow a copy from Ms. Nakada. 

YAY! There's also a super cool poetry event #blackpoetsspeak so if you're interested get info from Nakada, there is a reading in downtown LA. So yeah! *Ding Ding* There's the bell yay have a great day!!!!

We started off the class  by going over the our To Kill a Mocking Bird packet. Lourden read the blog and so did Ms. Nakada. Then she chose me (Tai). We were reading some of Sojourner Truth's speeches about how Jesus would not exist with out a women. Then we started finishing star test and completing the first two pages of our packet about Sojourner Truth's "Ain't I A Woman Speech." Ms. Nakada checked reading journals and then we watched the movie which showed Scout getting in a fight with Walter Cunningham and coming by for dinner. Scout complains to Atticus about school and Atticus explains why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.

So I had a doctor's appointment and Ms. G covered my class. Hopefully students read the Sojourner Truth speech, "Ain't I A Woman" and completed pages 1-2 of their packets.

Ms. Nakada starts off with TKAM summaries, and tells us that we will not be watching the movie today because the part we read (ch.2) is not in the movie. We then start/view a Narrative Structure Analysis paper, that we will be doing on every other chapter. Ms. Nakada then passes out a packet that has all the handouts we will need when she leaves. Everybody then decorates their packets and Ms. Nakada let's us watch 10min's of the movie.

Today we started the day writing down the agenda as always. Later Isaac got in front of the class and told a poem in class called "Lorem Ipsum." This poem was amazing. Later we started watching the opening scene of To Kill A Mocking Bird. The movie seemed pretty good for one that was so old. Most of the students also agree with me that the movie sets a creepy tone. After watching the movie we began to write the summary for the first chapter. We only got through the first sentence when the bell ring. Bye.

We started the class off by getting new assigned seats. After that Ms.Nakada asked us to take out our English notebooks. We turned to a blank page and titled it Second Semester Independent Reading Plan. We wrote our first semester accomplishments and then our top three books we read. Then we wrote a list of books to read for the second semester. After that a few people share out their reading list. Next we turn to the next blank page and do an organizer about taking a stand. Before writing anything down Ms.Nakada shows us pictures that have to do with taking a stand. Ms. Nakada asks "why do people take a stand? and some people don't take a stand?" Yay! The bell rang, so goodbye.
